Mitch's Ceramics

Drink a little bit of evil with your morning coffee.

Cat Penfold got me started on this ceramic thing, and while my first reaction was about how incredibly gay I would feel painting ceramics, (self image demands that I be swilling pure kerosene while gunning the engine on my Hog. Of course, I don't own a bike, and barely drink anymore.) the whole experience ended up being quite a bit of fun. I spend an awful lot of time in front of my computer, and long for the days when I can just cut loose in ink or paint. These mugs are all one of a kind, and done as the inspiration hits me. If in NYC, I highly reccommend a trip to see the good folks at Our name is Mudd and trying out their paint your own pot offer.

I am willing to take a commission for a mug or two, depending on my schedule and availability of the raw materials. Each one of these is a hand painted, one of a kind original. What you can't see on this page is the great patina that emerges after the paint is glazed, but these are very shiny and have a bit of an impasto feeling from the various layerings of glaze. They are dishwasher safe, and I have microwaved soup in them with no ill effects. All of the models shown have been in daily use at my house for better than year, and as you can see, have held up very well to the stresses of life. The basic deal on these is $50 for a regular mug, $75 for a beer stein. i know this sounds like a lot for a simple mug, but once again these are one of a kind, SIGNED originals.
